As already announced, the new firmware for the NSG 438 is ready, with the following new features:

- Treshold: new "off" position (high, low, normal)

- Repetition time: "free adjust" value input, complementing the fix value settings

- ISO self-test: new feature to provide a self-test as per latest ISO requirements. The ISO self-test is a feature to save customer considerable time when conducting calibration and functional measurements before and after a test procedure, such as those prescribed by the ISO standard. The built-in, precise voltage measuring circuit also saves the customer money as he no longer needs to purchase an expensive HV meter to verify the functionality of the NSG 438 generator. Just starting the ISO self-test gives the customer a quick response for the proper operation of his ESD generator. The screen displays all required voltage level as well as the tolerances in table form, based on the ISO 10605 standard.

- R/C value on screen: the R/C value is now shown directly on the main screen

- New internal calibration: to prevent a complete loss of function in the uppermost voltage range.
